At the restaurant of the Le Château des Alpilles hotel, chefs Mathias Bettinger and Agustin Ontivero delight guests with refined and colorful southern dishes. The setting could not be more perfect, the service is great and the food is excellent. A more formal setting but by no means stuffy.

There is a beautiful rooftop here, idyllic for early evening drinks and food with great views over the whole of St Remy. The design of the hotel and restaurant is very high-end.

The Oustau de Baumaniere has been a favourite of our family. This restaurant offers a beautiful terrace with the Alpilles in the background: it is a magical place for a sun- drenched kitchen with an excellent wine cellar.

A high-end restaurant which is located close to Baumaniere. Expect incredible service and gourmet formal dining.

Saint-Paul de Mausole Monastery - Vincent Van Gogh

10 minute drive 

Explore the Monastery of Saint-Paul-de-Mausole, emblem of Romanesque art in Provence in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, where Vincent Van Gogh lived for a year and created nearly 150 paintings inside and outside the institution. His time in St-Rémy is considered a major period in his work.

Glanum

Delve into history at Glanum, an ancient Roman city in the heart of the Alpilles, where the ruins tell its Gallic, Hellenistic, and Roman past.

Carrières des Lumières - Les Baux de Provence

Palais des Papes - Avignon

Pont du Gard - Vers-Pont-du-Gard

Admire the magnificent Roman aqueduct of Pont du Gard, a UNESCO World Heritage site. To complete your visit, we recommend renting a kayak or canoe: paddle under the Pont du Gard (or along a picturesque river near Isle sur la Sorgue or in the shade of the Pont d’Avignon).

Abbaye de Sénanque - Gordes

The picturesque Abbey of Sénanque is stunning to see even if you only drive down the mountain road to catch a glimpse from the road. Founded in 1148 by Cistercian monks, the abbey is beautiful, and the lavender makes it spectacular.

 

Châteauneuf-du-Pape

The famous castles and vineyards of Châteauneuf-du-Pape are located 45 minutes from the estate. Take a lovely stroll through the vineyards, admire the castle, or enjoy a wine tasting.

Les Halles in Avignon

From Tuesday to Sunday, from 6 am to 1:30 pm

Located in the heart of Avignon, Les Halles is a high-quality covered market frequented daily by Michelin-starred restaurant chefs nearby and locals.

 

L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue

Sundays, from 8 am to noon

40 minute drive 

The market in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is an antique and curiosity market that takes place on Sunday mornings. The antique furniture shops in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue are open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. After the market, enjoy lunch at Jardin du Quai.

 

Gordes

Tuesdays, from 8 am to noon

50 minute drive 

Gordes is one of the most picturesque hilltop villages in Provence. The view when arriving at the village is spectacular. After the market, enjoy lunch at La Bastide des Gordes or at Clover Gordes, the restaurant of chef Jean-François Piège.

St. Rémy de Provence

Wednesdays, from 8 am to noon

5 minute drive 

The market in Saint-Rémy is one of the most popular markets in Provence. We recommend going early to avoid the crowds. After the market, enjoy lunch at Château des Alpilles or arrange for a Provençal cooking class.

 

Eygalières

Fridays, from 8 am to noon

20 minute drive 

The market in Eygalières is slightly smaller and more upscale. The charming town of Eygalières is popular among tourists. After the market, enjoy lunch at Maison Hache or Chez Paulette for a cozier atmosphere.

Villeneuve-les-Avignon

Thursdays and Saturdays, from 8 am to noon

30 minute drive 

The local market in Villeneuve-les-Avignon is open every Thursday and Saturday, featuring an "antiques flea market".
